The library will reopen on 21st August, but…

Due to reconstruction works some restrictions and inconveniences will occur.

The summer break ends on 21st August at the DEENK.Most of our libraries will reopen this day.

However, due to the ongoing reconstruction works in the Life Sciences Library (LSL) and the Arts and Sciences Library (ASL) patrons might face some restrictions and inconveniences.

Life Sciences Library

The 3rd floor of the LSL has been completely closed off. We are planning to create a new lecture hall here and the learning space will be completely transformed as well.

The Eastern wing of the 2nd floor will be closed off, too: the desks and bean bag chairs will be replaced by study rooms available for request.

Arts and Sciences Library

More restrictions are to be expected in the ASL. Due to the reconstruction works, the library building will be temporarily inaccessible.

  • During this period, all books are relocated to the stacks, so they can only be requested with the usual order of stack requests from the catalogue.
  • Delivery times of stack requests will slightly change about which you can find out more here.
  • The circulation will be relocated to a temporary customer service desk, located at doorway 143 on the right side of the main entrance.
  • Documents (e.g. journals) requested for on-site use during reconstruction works will be served at the Life Sciences Library. Find out more about the rules and regulations here.
  • During the reconstruction works, the serving of books of the Old and Rare Books Collection will be suspended.

We hope that these inconveniences will be well compensated by our renewed spaces.
