The University of Debrecen Electronic Archive (DEA) is the digital repository of documents created at the University of Debrecen.
The archive stores materials in various collections, including:
-
educational materials,
-
media content, and
The repository, built on the principles of Open Access, provides access at several levels: while some documents are freely available from anywhere, others can only be accessed from computers within the University of Debrecen network or through DEA access points.
The Handle identifier is a unique identifier assigned to archived documents in institutional repositories, including the DEA. It serves as a persistent URL, ensuring permanent access to the document.
The identifier is assigned automatically during the upload process to various types of documents deposited in the archive, such as publications, student theses, and other materials.
How can these documents be accessed?
We strive to make our restricted-access materials available in all of our library units. Access is provided through laptops marked with DEA point stickers. These DEA access points are located at designated locations within the respective library units and are indicated by informational signs. For exact locations, please contact the library's customer service staff.
The laptops provide browser access exclusively to the dea.lib.unideb.hu website. With the exception of inaccessible encrypted documents and materials in the Educational Materials (Lectures) category, all DEA items can be accessed through DEA points. However, logging into the DEA system is not possible from these devices.
Items in the Educational Materials (Lectures) category are available exclusively through DEA points located in the Life and Natural Sciences Library.
Currently, the Life and Natural Sciences Library provides two DEA laptops for users, while the Library of Humanities, the Kassai Street Campus Library, the Böszörményi Street Campus Library, and the Szolnok Campus Library each provide one laptop.
Where are the DEA access points located?
Some of the digital documents stored in the DEA are available only with restricted access due to copyright protection and specific faculty regulations. To enable access to these materials, we have introduced laptops with limited functionality.
The following types of documents in the DEA are available under these access restrictions:
- Certain theses and dissertations (selected items from the collections of the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Health, and the Department of Sociology)
- Selected publications of DUPress
- Digitized textbooks
- Minutes of the University Council
- Biochemistry educational videos
- University Life (Egyetemi Élet)
Information about the laptops and their use is available at the circulation desks.
For the current locations of DEA access points, please visit the relevant information page on the University Library website.
If you need further information, please contact us at dea@lib.unideb.hu or send feedback through the DEA feedback form.
