As the largest and oldest library of DEENK, it has been welcoming users in the university's main building since 1933. The spaces, with their unique atmosphere, are home to the humanities collection, which primarily features fiction, dictionaries, travel guides, as well as books related to history, linguistics, psychology, ethnography, arts, religion, and philosophy. In the lobby, comfortable armchairs and newly arrived volumes await readers and visitors. The Austria Collection and the Director's Office are also located here.
The main entrance to the Humanities Library is located on the first floor of the university's main building, opening onto the Courtyard d'Honneur (Díszudvar).
The "Sziget" is the library's new reading and community space, serving as a popular venue for various cultural events and exhibitions. In its makerspace, upon prior arrangement, people can gather, exchange experiences, and take advantage of a great opportunity to create, learn, or experiment together.
Different services and rooms await visitors on the various levels of the library. The list below outlines the facilities available on each floor.
The library's new reading and community space, which is a popular venue for various cultural events and exhibitions, has a separate entrance and can also be accessed from the ground floor corridor on the eastern side of the main building. In its makerspace, upon prior reservation, people can gather, exchange experiences, and take advantage of a great opportunity to create, learn, or experiment together.
