The electronic versions of theses from the University of Debrecen must be uploaded to the University of Debrecen Electronic Archive (DEA).

It is the student’s responsibility to upload all documents.  

Our staff reviews the upload. After the documents are checked, the library issues a certificate.

Upload can be done from anywhere on the internet.

Thesis Submission Procedure

1. Convert your thesis document into a PDF document. You can secure your file here.
2. Visit the DEA website and  click on the "Log in", "Log in with Shibboleth" button. You can indentify yourself with your (EduID) - sane as your username and password for Neptun system. After you logged in, you will see a blue sidebar on the left side;
3. On the sidebar, click on the "New ➡ Item" button. In the "New item" window, choose the collection in which you need to upload your thesis. After that, you will see the upload form you should fill;
   Next to the "Collection" line, you can still modify the collection in which you want to upload;
4. Fill in the form;
   Please note:
   • Use capital letters for all the main words of the title;
   • Provide the name of your supervisor without the titles (e.g., Dr.,  Prof., Ph.D., etc.);
   • You can add more date by clicking on the "Add more" button.
   • You can reorder the lines by dragging them with the sign before the line.
   • You can delete any line by clicking on the "Trash bin" sign.
5. Give at least 2-3 keywords which best describe the content of your thesis. Please use new fields for each keyword;
6. Choose a Subject-heading which best describe the subbject of your thesis;
7. Write a short (5-6 sentences) review of your thesis;
8. Fill in the year in which you wrote your thesis! Choose the Department where your thesis belongs to;
9. Fill in your major! Choose the level of your degree, than the language of your thesis;
10. Fill in the length of your thesis;
11. Attach your the encrypted PDF version of your thesis;
12. Click the "Edit" icon, than enter the name of the file in the "Title" field and the "Description" field (e.g. thesis, declaration, appendix, classification statement). Don't modify the other fields! After you entered the title, click on the "Save" button;
13. Read the Copyright Declaration! Accept the license than click on the "Deposit" button;
14. Log out of DEA.
