Thesis Submission

The electronic versions of theses from the University of Debrecen must be uploaded to the University of Debrecen Electronic Archive (DEA).

It is the student’s responsibility to upload all documents.  

Our staff reviews the upload. After the documents are checked, the library issues a certificate.

Upload can be done from anywhere on the internet.

Thesis Submission Procedure

  1. Convert your thesis document into a PDF document. You can secure your file here.
  2. Visit the DEA website and enter your network identifier (EduID);
  3. Click on "Start another submission" or the “Upload”  button;
  4. Select the collection you wish to submit your thesis to from the drop-down menu;
  5. Click on the "Next" button;
  6. Provide your name and the requested thesis data;
    Please note:
    • Use capital letters for all the main words of the title;
    • Provide the name of your supervisor without the titles (e.g., Dr.,  Prof., Ph.D., etc.);
    • Keywords: select words that describe your work as a whole and will help others to find it. Use the "Add" button to add the keywords one by one;
    • Summary: Describe what your thesis is about in 6-8 sentences.
  7. Click on the "Next" button;
  8. Browse and upload the encrypted PDF version of your thesis;
  9. Check the information provided. In case of an error, click the "Correct one of these" button! If you do not want to correct anything click the "Next" button
  10. If you do not want to correct anything click the "Next" button;
  11. Read the License Agreement and check the "I Grant the License" option;
  12. Click on the"Complete Submission" button; 
  13. Log out of DEA.
